Gaining the Competitive Advantage – How To Train Mental Toughness

Mental toughness is a muscle like any other.  And you have to get in the gym to exercise it.  Your mental tennis gym is competition.  You get in the gym by playing matches and put something that matters at stake.  Another is entering into tournaments.

Another crucial part of it is consciously using these situations to improve your mental toughness.  This involves putting effort into bringing the mental tennis knowledge you are getting and practicing it. However, if you are not getting some type of instruction regarding the mental part of your game, it will produce similar results to learning to play tennis on your own.  Notice where you get stuck, then review your material to see if it had an answer. If not, find some way to get the answers you need to get unstuck.  Keep repeating this and your mental toughness muscle will grow and grow.
